Ceské Budejovice situated in South Bohemia in the Czech Republic is also known as Budweis, its German name used in the 19th century and is famous for its Renaissance and Baroque Buildings, for the biggest and one of the most picturesque squares in the Czech Republic and for its local beer, the Budvar. This local beer, also known as Budweiser, inspired the American beer of the same name.
