This is the name given to the region around the Arctic Circle which includes the town of Maniitsoq in the south, Sisimiut and Kangerlussuaq, also known as the “Gateway to Greenland”. In addition, the villages of Kangaamiut, Itilleq, Napasoq, Atammik and Sarfannguit are also included in the region, which is the size of Greece, but with only 10,000 inhabitants.
Destination Arctic Circle describes the region as rough, real and remote because these are the three main feelings many tourists experience when they visit first the region.
