Hanoi is a city with such character and a great place for exploring. Lose yourself in the Old Quarter, or the 36 streets as it’s also known, with an artistic heritage reflected in the array of narrow workshops selling everything from silver jewellery to silk clothes and paper goods.
Stroll the pleasant paths of the Confucian seat of learning in the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, and take a peek into Ho Chi Minh’s modest former residence tucked away in well tended gardens near his mausoleum. Or head to the thought provoking Hoa Lo Prison Museum, more commonly known as the ‘Hanoi Hilton’, which provides an interesting insight into the Vietnam War.
