Seochon Evening Tour with Pedicab

Begin an immersive evening exploration of Seochon, one of Seoul’s most charming historic districts, by pedicab - a modern take on the traditional Korean rickshaw. The journey starts at 17:00 from Gyeongbokgung Station (Exit 4), where the guide leads the way through Seochon’s winding alleys, revealing hidden cultural gems, historic landmarks, and the district’s unique atmosphere. The first stop is Yeongchumun, the lesser-known West Gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Illuminated beautifully at night, this tranquil site offers a rare glimpse into the grandeur of the Joseon-era architecture. From there, the route weaves through Seochon’s narrow streets, where hanok courtyards and traditional homes preserve the spirit of old Seoul. The guide shares fascinating insights into the district’s history and cultural significance as the pedicab glides through these storied pathways.

Next, visit Cheong Wa Dae Sarangchae and the Presidential Reception Hall, once part of South Korea’s presidential residence. The nighttime view highlights the elegance of this historic site while offering a deeper understanding of its political legacy. Continue to Mugunghwa Garden, a serene retreat dedicated to Korea’s national flower, the Hibiscus. Then, arrive at Sangchonjae, a meticulously preserved hanok estate showcasing Korea’s timeless architectural beauty. The journey leads to Tongin Market, a historic marketplace known for its traditional street food and unique dosirak (lunchbox) experience. Due to its early closing hours, evening food selections may be limited. A cultural highlight of the tour is the Park No-Soo Museum, the former home of celebrated painter Pak No-Soo, now a gallery dedicated to his influential works in modern Korean art.

Before concluding the journey, pass through Seochon’s picturesque hanok alleyways, where warm evening light casts a golden glow over the rooftops, creating the perfect setting for capturing Seoul’s architectural heritage. The tour ends at Pirundae-ro, the heart of Seochon, where guests receive final insights and recommendations before continuing their evening at leisure. The experience officially concludes at 19:00, offering an unforgettable glimpse into the hidden beauty of Seoul’s historic quarter.
