Tour Itinerary
Fly to Lapland’s capital Rovaniemi, transfer to the Apukka Glass Igloos Resort (approx. 10 minutes) and check in for three nights in an Aurora Cabin. On arrival or the next day, receive your Aurora alert app code and cold weather gear.
Today, explore Apukka's snowy surroundings at leisure, relax in a warm sauna or ask one of our Lapland specialists for optional excursions. After dark, step outside in search of the Northern lights by Snow Train. Take a trip on a special warm carriage drawn by snowmobile through the Lappish countryside and reach a traditional Lappish 'Kota'. Gather round a blazing bonfire and enjoy light snacks and hot drinks as a guide and aurora expert assists with camera settings to best capture the Northern Lights. (B)
After a hearty breakfast, spend the day embarking on optional excursions. Whether you want to go on an exciting snowmobile safari, meet friendly reindeer, test your skills at ice fishing or snowshoeing through wintery landscapes, the Apukka Glass Igloos Resorts have many options to offer*. In the evening, combine two of the most popular experiences into one amazing adventure by setting off on a reindeer sleigh ride in search for the Aurora Borealis. Journey through magical, snow-covered forests before returning to a traditional Lappish hut to grill some sausages and sip on warm juice by an open fire. (B)
