Fly to Bucharest, transfer and check-in at your hotel for an overnight stay.
Meet your guide this morning and embark on a morning sightseeing tour of the capital - including a visit to the Parliament Palace. After lunch, depart for Sibiu during the months of June through to October we can travel the famous Transfagarasan road which can include a stop at Curtea De Arges Monastery. During other months we travel through the beautiful Olt Valley with a stop at Cozia Monastery. On arrival, check-in to your hotel for two nights. (B)
In the morning, reach the city of Hunedoara and unearth the famous Corvins' castle, the greatest Gothic style castle in Romania. In the afternoon, continue to the city of Alba Iulia and stroll through its old citadel which has been recently renovated. Since the Middle Ages, the city has been the seat of Transylvania's Roman Catholic diocese. In the evening, return to Sibiu. (B)
Take a morning tour the city of Sibiu, admiring its Germanic architecture, a legacy of its 12th Century Saxon settlers. En-route to Sighisoara, discover the UNESCO-listed Biertan fortified church. In the afternoon, continue to the medieval town of Sighisoara; another town under UNESCO protection. Walk through its cobbled streets, past ginger bread style houses and ornate churches and see its nine towers - which remain along the intact city walls. Overnight in Sighisoara. (B)
Continue to Brasov this morning. En route stop at one of the Saxon villages such as Viscri, Crit or Saschiz. Also included this morning is a visit to Rupea Fortress. On arrival in Brasov, set off on a sightseeing tour of the city. Uncover the Black Church - the largest Gothic style church in Romania - and St Nicholas Church with the First Romanian School and its impressive collection of rare books. Spend the afternoon exploring Brasov at leisure. Overnight at your hotel in Brasov. (B)
Morning transfer to the town of Bran with a stop en route to visit Rasnov fortress - a 13th-century fortress located on a rocky hilltop which offered refuge to locals during the many invasions of the region. Reach Bran town and the infamous and imposing Bran Castle, also known as Dracula's Castle due to it being the purported inspiration for the castle of Bram Stoker's Count Dracula. Return to Brasov in the afternoon. (B)
Depart for Azuga to visit the former royal wine cellar. Enjoy some delicious samples of local Romanian sparkling wine with time to purchase a few bottles to take home. Continue to Peles Castle, an exquisite piece of architecture which served as the summer residence of the former Romanian Royal family. In the late afternoon, transfer back to Bucharest for an overnight stay. (B, wine tasting)
