Tour Itinerary
Fly to Ivalo and transfer to Wilderness Hotel Saariselkä. Enjoy dinner at the lodge’s restaurant, where seasonal Lappish cuisine is served daily, before checking in to a cosy Arctic Sky Suite. (D)
Husky safari: A husky safari is a bucket-list activity to enjoy when visiting Lapland. Learn how to handle the sled before heading out on the husky safari through charming scenery. All husky safaris include full instructions and are based on two people sharing a sled, unless otherwise stated.
Snowmobile adventure: Explore the stunning fells around Saariselkä on a snowmobiling tour, taking in scenic views and recharging and warming up during a delicious lunch served during the day. (B,L,D)
Aurora camp: This trip takes you to one of the carefully selected camp spots to catch a glimpse of the mesmerising northern lights. Sit comfortably in a sledge pulled by a guide’s snowmobile and journey through the serene winter landscape. On arrival, gather around an open fire, enjoying warm drinks while waiting for the sky to reveal its magical display.
Reindeer sleigh ride: Reindeer sleigh driving is a traditional Sámi experience, offering you a rare chance to immerse yourself in the authentic spirit of Lapland. Led by a professional guide, enjoy a peaceful ride through the wilderness, sitting comfortably in a reindeer-drawn sleigh. As you glide through snow-covered trees and magical scenery, experience the serene silence of nature alongside these gentle, furry companions. (B,L,D)
Snowshoeing to Prospector Gold Mine: Embark on a snowshoeing trip to the historic Prospector Gold Mine, combining gentle winter exercise with the quiet beauty and rich history of Finnish Lapland. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating stories about wildlife, local nature, and lesser-known history, bringing the snowy landscape to life with insights into this remarkable area.
Aurora hunt by car: Set out to chase the northern lights by car, heading to a specific location with hopefully clear skies for the best chance to witness this spectacular phenomenon. (B,L,D)
