Northern Lights Village Short Break

Fly to Ivalo where the dark night skies are painted bright with the ethereal lights of the aurora borealis almost every clear evening during the winter months, and where the snow-drenched landscapes offer the perfect setting for adventure. Stay in a glass-roofed cabin where the northern lights can be spotted whilst tucked up under the covers.
Tour Itinerary
Fly to Ivalo, in the northern reaches of Finnish Lapland, transfer to the Northern Lights Village and check in to your glass-roofed Aurora cabin for four nights. This special wood cabins have heated windows above the beds, allowing you to enjoy a glorious display of the northern lights. This evening, embark on an Aurora Camp excursion by bus. Stop by Lake Inari for some nighttime photographs of the frozen waters before warming up by a fire with Lappish midnight snacks and a warming drink. Grab a reindeer rug and lie down in the snow and watch the northern lights dance above your head. (D)
After breakfast, try your hand at mushing your own sled of huskies (2 persons per sled). Dash through the snowy forest for 30 minutes (5Km), get to know the huskies and learn more about their daily life. Enjoy the rest of the day to relax at leisure before dinner at the Northern lights village restaurant. (B, D)
Today embark on a 2-hour snowmobile journey away from the village of Saariselkä. Drive along snowy fells and fir trees laden with snow and stop en route to take photographs and enjoy a hot drink (B, D)
Today is for you to relax at your hotel or embark on optional excursions - speak to a Regent Lapland Specialist for more details. This evening, follow your guide along wintry forest paths to a cosy hut and enjoy some warm drinks and snacks, keeping an eye out for the elusive lights to appear. (B, D)
Transfer to the airport for the return flight back to the UK. (B)
